Since they were bought on sale, is isn't a big financial loss. Then I used those items to pre-emptively raise my reputation with the natives by trading more value then I got back. The thing that worked the best for me was to start by buying items on sale - either from the supply ship or from traders/villages/etc. ![]() I did one playthrough with the red flag pirate, but the play style is similar to the plunderer. But, for the sake of variety, I want to find a different means of doing so, at least until my party is strong enough to rob shrines consistently and fight hostile waves of natives. When I played as the game hunter, I combined a chef and hunting dog (and later a raptor) as a "back up" method to maintain sanity. I was therefore curious about strategies and useful party compositions when playing this leader. While you can break apart treasure for sanity, this reduces your rewards upon returning to Paris. In the early game, when you have little combat ability, you can't deal with these waves, so you in effect have to avoid the very activity that mitigates most of your sanity loss. Since you can't rest in villages, you are encouraged to rob shrines for restorative purposes, However, being too aggressive with this will quickly turn the natives against you and subject you to relentless attacks. One of the big challenges I've encountered in the early game is maintaining sanity. ![]() ![]() My first character was the big game hunter and there certainly is a big adjustment in play style. So I just started a second campaign (and my first on adventurer difficulty) and have decided to use the plunderer.
